Organic Geranium Essential Oil

Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Oil

Geraniums are one of those surprising gems of the botanical world – while they make for a lovely flower arrangement, the oil extracted from their petals has some wonderful benefits for the skin.

This essential oil is an astringent, and thought to reduce the appearance of wrinkles because it causes the muscles under the skin to contract, thereby slightly tightening the skin. This definitely isn’t botox, though: geranium oil will act as a natural toner for skin that’s lost some of its elasticity, but you’ll still have your full range of facial expressions after using!

Geranium oil is also anti-bacterial and makes a wonderful natural deodorant all on its own – the smell is light, floral and fresh, and its chemical components fight the bacteria that cause body odour.

The most fascinating thing about this essential oil, though, is its fast-acting relief of wounds, skin irritations, and even spots left by acne. It has cicatrisant properties, which means it increases the blood circulation right below the surface of the skin and promotes healing.

Dealing with some acne or surgical scars, or other skin blemishes? Try rubbing a drop or two on the affected area every day for surprisingly fast and efficient relief.
