Organic Lavender Essential Oil

Lavandula (Lavender) Angustifolia Oil

The oil extracted from the flower of the sweet-smelling lavender is one of the best natural remedies for acne.

Acne, both in teenagers and adults, is caused when the sebum gland (which excretes our skin’s oil) becomes infected. Lavender oil is strongly antibacterial, and helps to treat the infection at its root, thereby both healing current acne, and preventing future infection.

For this reason, it’s also a wonderful addition to a natural deodorant: like so many of the pleasantly-scented essential oils, its anti-septic qualities prevent the infections that cause body odour, as well.

Lavender is also popular as a massage oil, because it has an analgesic effect – it soothes muscle and tissue pain, and, with regular use, can even have a positive impact on joint pain.

To get these benefits, don’t reach for just any old lavender-scented lotion: ensure that real, pure lavender essential oil is used (or make your own by adding a few drops of oil to your favorite unscented natural lotion).
